Deeply touched by the effects of poverty, poor education, unemployment, fatherless families, homelessness, violent crime, substance abuse, mental illness and other major issues that plague people in their own community, Jim and Nancy Cotterill (bios below) founded UNITE INDY to raise awareness and resources to meet needs of those in inner city Indianapolis. Watch as television reporter Angela Cain tells UNITE INDY’s story.
UNITE INDY mobilizes volunteers, expertise and other resources on behalf of urban churches, ministries and other charities that are struggling to meet the ever-growing needs of those they serve.
UNITE INDY is raising up an army of volunteers to love on our urban brothers and sisters by giving their time and sharing their talents. Others participate by providing needed goods or financial support that is passed on by UNITE INDY to deserving urban churches, ministries and other charities.
While currently concentrating on the inner city, UNITE INDY will eventually be working to help organizations that serve those in need in the entire nine county metropolitan Indianapolis area.
Although UNITE INDY is a non-denominational Christian organization, we welcome non-Christians to join us in loving our neighbors. UNITE INDY’s services are not limited to Christian organizations.
Since UNITE INDY, Inc. is approved under Internal Revenue Code (IRC) Section 501(c)(3) as a Public Charity, donors can deduct contributions they make under IRC Section 170.
Mission: Connecting hearts, minds and hands to meet needs in our community
Vision: Our city’s image transforms from “Indianapolis: The Crossroads of America” to “Indianapolis: The Heart of America.”
