To Fight The Root Cause Of Poverty
Now you can join the army of volunteers that UNITE INDY is mobilizing to fight the root cause of poverty.
We have many options that will enable you to experience the joy you’ll feel only when you give your time to benefit others.
Each of our Jobs for Life (JfL) job preparation training teams include:
Leadership Team:
- Site Leader – Develops, encourages, and leads the team while cultivating relationships and community among all leaders, volunteers, and participants.
- Lead Class Facilitator – Recruits, equips, directs, and encourages two Class Facilitators to deliver the JfL curriculum content in a manner consistent with JfL’s Instructor Guide and Student Workbook.
- Champion Team Leader – Recruits, equips, directs, and encourages a team of dedicated mentors to walk beside students throughout the JfL training course and beyond.
- Prayer Team Leader – Coordinates and encourages a prayer team committed to pray regularly and specifically for all components and people involved with JfL training. Volunteer as a Prayer Team Leader!
- Student Relations Leader – Recruits and screens unemployed and underemployed individuals who demonstrate a strong desire to improve their work situation.
- Business Relations Leader – Serves as the “ambassador” spokesperson for a JfL site to the business community, and calls on employers and business partners to get involved with your class by providing mock interviews, hiring grads, etc.
- Administrator – Documents and manages all class information and records, oversees student/volunteer information, and directs all classroom setup and logistics.
Team Members:
- Champion – Commits to journeying one-on-one with a JfL student to provide friendship, support, guidance, assistance, and a sense of community that will help the student complete the JfL course and overcome employment barriers. Volunteer as a Champion!
- Class Facilitator – Delivers the JfL curriculum content in a caring and professional manner to set the stage for effective learning and to create an atmosphere for student interaction and participation.
UNITE INDY has opportunities for volunteers to serve as Church Ambassadors, who call on their own church and others to partner with UNITE INDY to either provide or to receive resources required to serve those in need.
We also have volunteer opportunities for Ministry Ambassadors and Charity Ambassadors who would like to sign up ministries and charities to partner with us in an effort to receive resources required to serve those in need.
And, UNITE INDY has additional opportunities from time to time for volunteers to work virtually doing:
- Database development
- Church Partner, Ministry Partner, and Charity Partner support
- Searching national Second Chance jobs websites to identify additional potential SecondChanceIndy.com Employer Partners from Central Indiana
